March 2009 Newsletter
Hello Everyone!
We received the sweetest letter from one of our students that began her first session of our weekly equine program the week of Feb 22, 2009. She is 3 1/2 years old and has cerebral palsy. Her mother, and her grandmother called me earlier this week to share how excited they are to report their daughter/grandaughters emotional and social improvements since she has been participating in our weekly sessions.
The mother also shared with me that her daughter wanted to send one of our horses a letter. This beautiful letter was delivered to us yesterday. Her letter states: Dear Grace, I love you. You are my best friend. Love, XXXXX. She signed her first name and drew Grace a picture. I do believe Grace is her very best friend. They bonded instantly the first time they met. It is so exciting to see how lives are changed through the Love of Christ and the programs offered through the ministry.
As we are now entering our 3rd year of ministry, 97 individuals have directly participated in our equine programs or received services at our Croton location. A countless number of families have also received benefits from our community outreach programs. We now have a website. It is new and still pretty basic, so please visit often as we will be updating and adding picures. You can visit us at www.newlifechristianstables.org.
Our goal this year is to complete the construction of the outdoor riding arena, get a community center started, and begin expanding our programs and services at the Danville location. We need a building or an area inside the community center so the clothing, housewares and personal care items can be made available year round to individuals or families as their needs arise. We are focusing on grants, private and corporate sponsors, and fundraisers so we can meet the growing needs of individuals and families during these tough economic times. Please feel free to share this email with your friends, neighbors and co-workers. The more individuals that are aware and support our mission will result in more individuals and families being assisted. We are so grateful for your continued prayers and support of this ministry and our family.
God Bless,
Vicki & family
